Today is the day that the White House becomes Black and Barack Obama's grandmother Sarah Obama from Kenya will be in DC to to share in thehistoric inauguration of America's first African-American president.
Grandma Sarah is the third wife of Obama's paternal grandfather, and even tho' she is not blood related to Barack Obama, he honors her by calling her "Granny Sarah".
During the campaign she rode against attempts to portray Obama as a foreigner to the United States or a Muslim, saying that while Obama's grandfather had been a Muslim, "In the world of today, children have different religions from their parents."
It's a new day!
