Deputies and police officers from Santa Rosa and Escambia counties and Gulf Breeze are searching for a person they say robbed the Pen Air federal credit union about 2:20 p.m.
The search includes the helicopter from Escambia County.
Deputies are searching for a red Ford Explorer. An Explorer was seen speeding away from a hidden driveway near the credit union.
Police cruisers are parked at the entrance to the Gulf Islands National Seashore on U.S. 98, just outside the city limits.
