Jermain Dupri has set his lawyers on the attack to a nightclub in his hometown Atlanta, GA. Nightclub management company Elite Entertainment Group, LLC who owns Pure, approached Dupri’s team to request his participation in a November 8th event called A Black Affair. Dupri’s team declined the offer because their client was out of the country. The sneaking nightclub owner decided to proceed in using Durpi’s name as an attendant and host for the event! How bold!
JD had his lawyer’s requested the immediate removal of his name, but the nightclub didn’t comply. Now, JD’s lawyers are in full attack mode suing the Elite Management owners and promoters for ‘violating his right of publicity, unfair competition, false advertising and unfair and deceptive trade practises under the federal Lanham Trademark Act.” And accusing the nightclub owners “of violating the Georgia Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act and Georgia common law.”
