Producer Jermaine Dupri recently went on a business lunch and not a day later the rumors began flying that he was fired as President of Island Records Urban Music, effective immediately. While no word has been confirmed on the firing, more news is surfacing about the potential reasons, the most prevalent: The embarrassment over girlfriend Janet flopped album.
Despite the success of Dupri’s other producing credits, like Mariah Carey, Janet’s album “Discipline” as of January 2009 has failed to sell over 500,000 copies and the tour was a disaster. Jermaine was said to have "lost heart".
