With the success of the last James Bond movie that brought in $70 million in its first weekend, the studio has already confirmed two more with Daniel Craig locked down for one more film. After Craig is finished with his contract, we're rumored to have the first "black Bond" with Jamie Foxx leading the pack. In case you missed it, here is what we told you a few weeks back:
So who would play the legendary 007 then? Several names have popped up with one clearly becoming the favorite (even by the current James Bond). That's right people, Mr. Ray Charles himself Jamie Foxx is said to be the front runner to replace Craig as the next James Bond. Jamie has even picked up on the buzz and is starting to also make his pleas to the studio saying, “Of course! I’d put a little swing in it. A little hip-hop, you know. Maybe not drinking martinis, but drinking some Hennessey maybe. Bond would drink dark liquor. I was in London and I had to give an award to Daniel Craig? and I went up and said, ‘Bond. Black Bond.’ And everybody just lost it… Black Bond would be cool.”
We love Jamie. He was amazing in Ray and has always done some great work, but we are a little wary about his action movie skills. Let's be honest, dude isn't the best damn action star. Maybe he is TOO good of an actor to be an action star, did anybody see Stealth???? Yeah.....neither did we. It was THAT bad. What about Miami Vice??? Yeah....we walked out too. OH YEAH!!! That one movie The Kingdom? We rented it on DVD and weren't too fond of it. So perhaps Jamie might want to be a little careful with how he proceeds here. Those English are very protective of Bond and if you mess it up, trust us, you will hear about it from those Brits.
Damn....what's been going on here? We elect the first brother as president, Beyonce might be Wonder Woman and now James Bond might become black. We're lovin' it!
And now it seems as though another current pop star might be starring in the next Bond movie. Rumors have been going around from the studio that Nicole Scherzinger (We had to look up how to spell that....we just know her as "THE HOT ONE") from the Pussycat Dolls that she will star as the next Bond Girl. Being a Bond girl is considered a big deal and has been launching pads for many young stars. Denise Richards, Halle Berry, Jane Seymour, Teri Hatcher and a bunch of ladies from the 60's all benefited from playing Bond's chick.
We started to wonder whether or not Nicole could pull off the acting for the role being that she hasn't done much acting....buuttttt then we remembered that being a Bond girl isn't about acting ability. It's more so about looking good and being able to look like you can fire a gun. That's it???? Done. We're sold. She has our vote.
