Just when you thought President-elect Barack Obama was escaping all 'shady' behaviour mildly associated with his name: Here comes a Chicago Governor (Rod Blagojevich) who is attempting to sell Obama's now vacant Senate seat!!
Congressman Jessie Jackson, Jr. was named candidate #5 by the arrested governor who claim Jackson Jr. or one of his minions offered up $500,000 for the senate seat. Jackson Jr. of course has denied any part in "pay for play politics".
And as only true politics would allow: Jackson Jr. made sure to use the press conference scheduled to 'clear' his name and draw comparisons to Obama's election and how it will aid in his election to the now 'shady' Illinois Senate seat, here is what Jr. had to say, "I got the idea that if a skinny kid with a funny name could be president of the United States, then a short kid with a somewhat controversial but certainly a high profile name, could be a Senator from Illinois."
Keeping it classy Jr. - your daddy will be proud!
